The widespread use of a Windows metafile rendering exploit which surfaced at the end of 2005 and was patched against in early 2006 came in at # 2 in the top ten with 21.5% of total detections. It is disquieting because it suggests there are still a lot of unpatched machines around.
The only new entrant into the top ten is a recent and rather sophisticated rootkit which goes by the name of Trojan.Kobcka.A and is probably used to hide a mass-mailer virus.
BitDefender’s August 2007 Top 10 malware list includes:
1. Trojan.Peed.Gen 24.7%
2. Exploit.Win32.WMF-PFV 21.5%
3. BehavesLike:Trojan.Downloader 19.06%
4. Win32.Netsky.P@mm 5.89%
5. Trojan.Pandex.H 2.54%
6. Win32.NetSky.D@mm 1.92%
7. Win32.Nyxem.E@mm 1.80%
8. Win32.Netsky.AA@mm 1.80%
9. Trojan.Kobcka.A 1.24%
10. Win32.Sality.M 1.24%

BitDefender Lab’s Top 10 Malware Chart for June reveals that many computer users still do not have adequate protection.
With this month’s list of Top 10 malware threats only accounting for 39.75% of the total number of threats, perhaps the most outstanding finding is not a certain virus, but the way that the top malfeasants have been concentrated into a smaller percentage of the overall viruses developed in the wild.

Guide Review - Siemens CF62T Review
The Siemens CF62T looks like a direct competitor of Sony Ericsson’s Z200: a small clamshell phone with an upper handle that you can use to hang it to your neck. It’s clearly aimed at the youth market with a basic set of features at a low price. But unfortunately, the CF62T falls short of the quality level we’ve been used to with Siemens.
To start with, the ringer volume, basically too low to be heard even when set at maximum: we missed many calls. The speakerphone was below average and definitely not as good as other Siemens phones we have reviewed. The keypad also wasn’t comfortable to use and felt pretty cheap, as did the general construction of the Siemens CF62T. Software was also deceiving: slow, and in some cases, you can’t press “end” to get out of something as with the vast majority of phone, it will keep bugging you with a question. There are some qualities: a small size and weight and a low price and the presence of a speakerphone, even though it’s not optimal. But all-in-all, I don’t quite recommend that phone.

Today businesses function with technology which boosts their efficacy. Technology is integral to smooth functioning of factories as well as offices. Communications and instant access to information has enabled a computerized business world to leap ahead in efficacy and globalization.
Computers in business increase efficacy and Microsoft has been promoting Vista as a must have for businesses. However, Mark Casazza, director of academic information for the City University in New York feels otherwise, “From what I have heard Vista is not going to provide any functionality to business users”.
